Background and training

Dr. Tsehay earned his medical degree from the Gondar College of Medical Sciences in Ethiopia in 1996 and later completed a Master of Public Health. Before moving to the United States, he spent eight years as a general practitioner — including ICU and hospital medicine — at a South Korean tertiary hospital in Addis Ababa. He completed his residency through the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency Program in Virginia, where he received the program’s award of academic excellence three consecutive years (2021–2024).
