Minhthu V. Phan, DDS

Dr. Minhthu V. Phan is a board-certified pediatric dentist and co-owner of All Star Pediatric Dentistry on Hungerford Drive in Rockville, MD. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam, moved to Rockville at nine, and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School — she is treating the children of the community she grew up in, in English and Vietnamese.

Background and training

Dr. Phan earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, then her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland, where she received the pediatric dental award recognizing ethical standards, kindness, and service to underserved children in Maryland.

After dental school she completed a one-year general practice residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York, gaining broad experience in the comprehensive dental care of adolescents and adults. She returned to the University of Maryland for specialty training in pediatric dentistry and served as chief resident, with hands-on training that spanned conscious sedation, emergency-room dentistry, and the care of medically compromised children.

She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry — the specialty’s board certification — and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
